 The
Barcelona Wine Festival is the new name given to the International
Wine Symposium which, until now, had been organized in the
city of Marbella, in 2004 and 2005.
During 2 days the event offers master classes, seminars
and guided tastings conducted by the most prominent personalities
of the national and international wine industry. Amongst
some of the wine celebrities that have taken part in the
past two editions are Jancis Robinson, José Peñín,
Alejandro Fernández, Carlos Falcó, Stephane
Derenoncourt, Miguel Torres, as ell as representatives of
prestigious organizations such as Wines of Chile, Wine of
Australia, Wines of South Africa, University of California
Davis, and Crus Classes de Graves, amongst many others.
The wines tasted during the event are usually new releases,
exclusive or rare, making the tasting sessions and master
classes unique tasting experiences.
The 2006 edition has been designed to bring the event both
to the consumer as well as the professional. It includes
a Grand Tasting Area that will be open to all the professionals
attending the master classes and seminars, as well as to
the general public. There will be more than 100 tasting tables
and close to 600 wines available for tasting. |
